Murder In The Rain is a classic 1980’s concept album based on the film noir movies and detective pulp fiction books and magazines of the 1920’s and 30’s. It was written between 1987 and 1989 by David Mackin and Ian Erving of The Beer Pigs and has finally been recorded using the technology of today that could only have been dreamed about at the original time of conception. .
David Mackin is an eclectic singer songwriter who also plays Keyboards, Guitar and Trumpet with The Beer Pigs. His albums to date have been a mixture of Celtic Folk (The Hermitage Suite) and Jazzy Pop ( The Poetry Pot). This album is a real retrospective look on what he was dabbling with in the late 1980’s as a young aspiring artist of eighteen years old.
The album will be digitally available with an exclusive comic book that opens up the concept of the album and tells the story of the Chicago Private Investigator Mac Sweeney.
You can purchase the full album here and additionally receive an exclusive PDF of the comic book that will not be available on the iTunes release. You will be able to read more of the story behind this very original album and explore some rare demos, recorded in the 1980’s, on the blog page.
